Good morning! We will not be having Wednesday night services due to the potential for more yucky weather and the timing of our services today to honor the Trickey Family. As you all are aware, today is kind of a big deal in North Carolina... So here's a little video in the spirit of competition and good humor!

Exciting news! Zack & Candace Burch (Teresa & Roger Burch, Uncle Zane) welcome Leighton Zackary Burch last night! Momma and baby are doing fine. Continued prayers for this family as they begin this new journey together.

Please be in prayer for this pastor and his family, as well as his congregation as they seek to minister to him through this unfortunate diagnosis. “Calling the CBFNC Community to Prayer Bill Bigger, pastor of Hope Valley, Durham, will undergo emergency surgery on Wednesday morning at UNC Hospitals. He was diagnosed on Monday with a brain tumor. The surgery will be followed by aggressive chemo and radiation therapy. Please remember Bill, his wife, Leigh, and the Hope Valley congregation in your prayers. A Caring Bridge site has been developed. Powerful reminder this morning. Faith isn’t always something that moves mountains and gives us the ability to walk on the sea. Sometimes it’s simply admitting that we can’t handle it, but we believe that by pressing forward God will keep us above the water.

Last leg of the journey home!

The guys are back on American soil. Unfortunately their flight to NY was delayed which caused them to miss their next flight to RDU, which was supposed to have them arriving by 10 AM this morning. They’ll be catching the next flight to RDU at 3:30. Thank you for your continued prayers for their safety!

Today is the day that the team will begin their journey home. They have done great work in Jera Village and are excited to share their experiences. Please pray for their safe travels. Travel Timeline: They will depart from Kisumu at 6:40 PM (around 10-11 AM our time 1/26) and be in Nairobi until 10:55 PM (around 3 PM our time 1/26). They will then depart for NY and arrive around 6:15 AM (1/27). Their final flight will arrive at RDU between 10-11 AM Sunday morning (1/27).

The kids were so happy to receive futbol (soccer) “jerseys” today. Thank you to a very special donor from our church. This is one of their favorite playground activities.
